Tech & Global Communication Webinar

On August 10, the fifth online webinar of the third THINC Fellowship Cohort (2023-24) was successfully held. During the seminar, members of the “Tech & Global Communication” group discussed how technology promotes global communication and connectivity.

In his keynote speech, Wu Xiankun, co-founder of Kuse provided an in-depth introduction to Kuse, an AI-powered virtual workspace that enables users to effortlessly research, generate ideas, and collaborate in real-time.

 

According to Wu, this innovative tool is designed to enhance human-AI collaboration and has the potential to impact global communication, particularly in cross-cultural exchanges and multilingual collaboration.

Tech-Based

In the first panel discussion, Zhang Chengcheng, co-founder of Latam China Tech, explored the impact of technology on global communication, particularly the role of online platforms for cross-cultural exchange in the post-pandemic era. However, she emphasized that while technology has improved efficiency, human judgment remains indispensable in complex creative work.

Yuting Zhu (China), an assistant professor of Marketing at the National University of Singapore, shared her unique insights on how technological innovation can enhance global consumer communication in the digital economy. She emphasized that the future of marketing and sales will increasingly depend on artificial intelligence and data analytics, and that effectively integrating these technologies will be crucial for brand success."

Svetlana Stotskaya, a Belarusian marketing and branding consultant, mentor, and media author currently based in Europe, emphasized the importance of technology in cross-cultural exchange and demonstrated how digital tools can be leveraged to enhance a brand's global influence.

Youth Power

Alland Dharmawan, a personal assistant to the Advisor to the President at the Presidential Advisory Council of the Republic of Indonesia, detailed how technology is creating more learning and exchange opportunities for youth in developing countries. He shared his experiences from global forums, noting that technology has become a crucial tool for connecting young people worldwide and promoting cross-cultural cooperation.

Ainur Slamgazhy, Assistant Professor at Astana IT University in Kazakhstan, explored the issue of the digital divide in the context of globalization. She emphasized that while advancing global communication, it is essential to address the needs of young people who, due to limited resources, cannot fully benefit from technological advancements.

Rida Hameed, Senior Anchor and Executive Producer at K-21 News Channel in Pakistan, shared her extensive experience in the Pakistani media. She highlighted how social media and digital platforms have provided unprecedented opportunities for youth to voice their opinions, fostering cross-border communication and understanding.

Filipe Porto, an editorial consultant of China International Communications Group Center for the Americas, also shared his experiences in the media. Filipe emphasized that the rise of social media and video content is transforming traditional media's communication methods. He particularly noted that in the context of increasingly close China-Brazil relations, using social platforms to showcase China's technological and cultural achievements to Brazilian audiences can deepen mutual understanding and cooperation between the two countries.
