Wing Yu Carter Cheng

Local Pathways Fellow at the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network
Carter Cheng is a Local Pathways Fellow at the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network, a Global Shaper, and the Impact Officer of the London Hub of the World Economic Forum Global Shapers Community. Having worked on 10+ climate projects at the UN since 2017, Carter specialises in helping stakeholders—ranging from national governments to start-ups—to find the right tools to build climate resilience.
Previously, Carter researched tech law and published one of the very first empirical studies on China’s AI-powered courts as a Yenching Scholar at Peking University. Carter holds a BA in International Relations from the University of St Andrews, a MSc in Economic History from the London School of Economics, and a LLM from Peking University. She is also a Mandela Residential Fellow at the Centre for Diplomatic Advancement, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
